I use SAMs jigs unpainted with an 8" grub tail. My best day last year with the monger I had a 9 an 9.5 and two more fish over 8 lbs all on a non Painted Sam 5 ounce head with a black grub.....that's four fish over 8 lbs myself. Chartruce, pink, white all work too. You can't beat them for the price
