Not sure of boat config- CC, Cuddy, Split console, bowrider or WA. But 300hp is a bit puny for that size boat. Cruise speed under ideal conditions would be low 20 mph or less fully loaded with people and full tank of gas.
Perhaps top WOT speed about 28-30mph which you do not want to run routinely WOT- 5000 rpms
I would opt up a notch 2x 200hps.
