If you want to keep them to eat, keep them. If you don't, then release them.
They're there for everyone's enjoyment and if I want to eat or if I want to release, that is my choice within the regs.
Why would you suggest C&R at a time of year when you admit fighting them would kill them? That's the time of year you should keep them so that they don't go to waste.
