I always felt you hadda keep them cool. My spare refrig in garage died ten years ago. I never replaced it.
I used to hide them in the back of the kitchen refrigerator for a few days until my wife found them one time.
They're expensive, but now I just give away unused ones.
I've also been the beneficiary of same.
