Did you try sending them to Penn, they may have some type of warranty on them? I have burnt out many of shimano stradics already that I payed good money for, but shimano fixed them for a few dollars shipping. It worth a shot to try. Also like the previous posts slammers i have had lasted 20 years already, also all of my Penn conventional reels are indestructible almost.
