Thumbs up South Branch 8/4

first went to a not-so-well known location on the river, started off tossing a trout slayer with nothing but sunny action. they charge it as soon as it touches the water . switched over to a 3" watermelon senko texas rigged, and that was the ticket...after a couple casts in a deep clear stretch nailed an 11" smallie, then right after a 13". alot of sunnies kept ripping the senkos off the hook, but i snagged a few of them by accident also. had to go back to the car to get some more. eventually i used them all up; got 4 more smallies and a few more sunnies before heading to a different location. first 3 smallies are pictured below...

Once at the other spot, i put the trout slayer back on and nailed 3 more smallies, not as many sunnies there though. switched over to a tube and got 1 more, moved upstream and missed a few more. tied on a rebel crawfish and walked downstream, fishing different holes. got 1 last dink and then got hung up in a tree . finally tried out one more lure before dark, a 2" popper, and managed a pumpkinseed. total smallies=11, plus 24+ sunnies, the most productive day i had on the river .
