I've been wondering if the growing pike population has had an effect on the bass in the Passaic. Seeing as I havnt caught a single largemouth out of it yet this year. Smallies still seem readily available.

Bro, Its always been this way in the passaic river. Largemouth Bass are really not river fish, they prefer slower water, where as the Smallmouths love fast water and current. Your best bet of finding Largemouth in the Passaic are looking for bends and inlets in which there is no current.
