1. I know trout stocking ends in June but when do you stop fishin for them? Last year i fished for them into june. Ive heard people say that they stop in july/august. Can you fish for stocked trout leftovers through the summer? If not, how come? I understand that you have to work harder to get fish but i like that challenge.
2. What other freshwater fish are targeted in the summer and what are some strategies/bait/lures/places to look for the fish (bottom fishin, structure, cover, open water?)
Thanks in advance.

1. Trout stocking ends Memorial Day weekend. You can fish most stream into June / early July based on the weather. The hotter and drier it gets - the shorter the window.
If you are local to spots.. its great to fish right after a thunderstorm, or after some steady rain. You get a window where the fish breath new life
If you are a flyfisherman - you can get some great summer fishing / hatches in the afternoon.
Now there are certain rivers that I fish that hold fish all summer and usually bigger fish since most of these slobs leave for deeper cooler water. Just need to know where to fish.
Freshwater fishing in the summer depends more on the water you are fishing.
If you are fishing gin clear water, late PM's bites (topwater / pad fishing) / early AM live bait or worm or softplastics fishing
You can log in some hours musky fishing
Float the delaware (night fish for some monster rainbows / browns)
Lots of things to do in NJ..
Tight lines man and catch em up
