NJ's newly purchased boat registration fee is the sale tax on what you paid for it. That is one thing. All boats 12 feet or longer must be registered ( does not matter if powered or not at that size and up).
You will need the title too. You have a title?
If no title you're going to have alot of hoops to jump through to prove you legally purchased a legally owned boat (aka prove it's not stolen).
