Default Local pond fishing

Stopped by the very local pond (Colonial Park, Somerset NJ) as a last minute get out of the house idea.

Tried for trout/bass and caught a few small bass. Switched to the 2 wt fly rod and hooked up nearly every cast with bluegills and crappie. Nothing really large, a few good sized bluegills, but on the light 2 wt rod, the rod was bent in half and put on a good show for passers by. Even heard a guy fishing near me with his girlfriend say "that dude has got another one...we meed to move"

Also love it when passers by stop to see and touch a real live fish and then loiter around till they see ya catch another. Kinda feel like Bill Dance

Nothing like catching fish on smaller tackle...get a good fight and turn a 1.5 hour trip to success and not cast, cast, cast
