Weekend Trip
I got out this past Saturday with a buddy to hit up some trout streams before things closed up. This will likely be my last fishing trip for a while as the wife is due with our second kid next month. It was about mid to upper 30s when we hit the water just before 7am and fog was rising off the water. Within a few casts I hooked into a nice 15.5" Rainbow. What a great fight this fish had and beautiful coloring. I don't think the picture really does it justice. Half hour later my buddy hooked into a really nice bow as well about the same size or maybe a little bigger. The fish were really active and hitting hard and then pulling line right off the reel. Later we moved up to another spot and hooked into 2 really nice brookies both were between 15-16". All in all it was a great day and absolutely unbelievable for March fishing. These are easily the nicest trout I have caught in NJ to date.
