Thanks for a few more leads guys.
I framed out the anchor locker with some mahogany and it turned out sweet, but the same wood planed down from 1" (.820") to 5/8" for my transom boxes warped out almost an inch.
I've since soaked them and have a couple hundred pounds on 'em...but I may have to go back to the drawing board and try again.
