Re: Rvr 11/3
On 11/4, @ RVR, hiked to the eastern shore, as the wind conditions were almost ideal, blowing pretty good straight out of the North. Catch 'em best when it’s NW.
Started the drill, wading (about knee deep) & casting a Yo Zuri, moving north. Way, way off in the distance, is a bass boat (literally the only boat on the res.) w/ 2 guys, pretty far off the same, approx. 1.5 mile long shoreline, casting towards it, drifting my way.
As they got closer, the one guy yelled something to me about “water, shallow” I couldn’t make it out in the wind. Thought maybe he was warning me about wading: that it was shallow, but gets deep, u know,…to be careful. Finally, I hear him: “Hey, you’re wading & splashing in the shallows scaring all the fish along this entire eastern shore away!” I said, “What?”….I thought he was kidding. He wasn’t! “Yeah, you’re scaring all of them, you, %^&**$)%^# !!!!”
I shook my head, & yelled: “Yeah, right, …relax,……good luck!!”
He continued to curse & go nuts as they drifted by. I kept fishing,……then hooked & landed a 16” brown ,…it jumped twice (hope he saw it!). That was the only fish I caught. I must’ve scared the others away.
Got to be THE lamest excuse for not catching fish that I ever heard. I've heard alot of them.
