Default Slow Pick On Hopatcong With A Memorable Fish

JRock and his buddy took me out on Hopatcong today with the hopes of jigging some walleye and hybrids. Fishing was slow. We hit the usual spots, Chestnut, Pickerel, Elba.....etc. Day started off fantastic with me scoring a PB hybrid in 35 feet of water off Chestnut on a live herring. After a great fight and JRock deftly landing it without a net, it pushed my "el crapo" lip-grip to somewhere between 8 and 9 pounds. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that my scale is off and it could be closer to 10. After that it was slow. We caught a bunch of big crappie, JRock lost a monster pickerel on a Rapala jigging Rap of.....no joke.....pickerel point. Only walley came just after 6pm off Elba. Slow day overall, but any day I get to spend 12 hours on the water with good peeps and catch a PB is a fantastic one. Thanks again JRock.
