Default Conditions On Budd Lake???

Man, I know there's fish in this lake and I know that some people do well there. When Chris_JC and I got on the lake, I had the sonar on looking for all those weedbeds that we catch pike out of in the winter. NADA. I could not find ANY weedbeds on the beach side of the lake, even in 3 to 4 feet of water. Also, the lake looked like pea soup and had a film on it and lots of slimy balls of dead vegetation floating. Does anyone know if they recently put weed killer in this lake? It looked like crap. I've really only been on Budd in the ice, but this did not look like any water I've seen on a lake of this size. Looked like a toilet. We worked the entire shoreline, caught only one bass and did not mark a SINGLE fish. I added another nice bass at a nearby pond (thank you, you know who you are) before heading back to Hunterdon. Fished a local pond in Hunterdon before pounding 10 dinks in about 5 minutes at another locale. Good to be out on this eerie day.
