There is nothing wrong with gently handling a trout as long as you wet your hands beforehand and you make it very quick. Obviously, its best for all fish if they aren't handled. However, trout aren't so fragile that that they can't be gently lifted by wet hands. If they were, you wouldn't see anyone (especially the Trout Unlimited TV host) handling fish. Also, that fish looks like it came from a pond where it will end as snapping turtle food in short order due to water temps
