Once read the definition of fresh fish, found in supermarket or at a fish mongers is 3-4 days old, time it takes to process, sell to wholesaler, sell to retailer.

So it could be OK, smell will tell you. If you are ever buying fish, never feel funny asking if you can smell it before you buy.

If you are going to use fish after its been filleted on a boat make sure you wash it off when you get home. Those knives and cutting boards are not exactly the cleanest.

Striper keep ca 3-4 weeks frozen. We bot a food saver that vacuum seals and is supposed to extend that to 3 months. Have a freezer loaded with striper fillets, gonna put that to the test.
