I enlarged the photo and can see spots. So I did a little searching on Sand Tigers and found this:
The adult’s body is light brown to gray above and paler below. Young sand tigers often have small, dark spots that may fade as the animals mature.
Regardless of what kind it is, I have to agree it must have been a shocker when it hit the beach. No more swiming for me
