Bass in Hunterdon

Hey all!

I'm looking for some new places to do some bass fishing in Hunterdon County. I've been going to Teetertown regularly but I've only caught small ones out of there. I was thinking Deer Path Park Pond may be good, but on google maps it looks empty (not sure how old the picture was). Anyone have any recommendations? I'm not trying to spot burn anyone, if you would like to send me a PM that'd be great. Tight lines everyone!

Thanks! I've been doing that all week, but wanted to see if anyone had any experiences they could share with me before I make a trip out.

Thanks Andy! I live very close to SR, however I don't have access to a boat and didn't know how productive bank fishing would be there. Any insight on that would be great!

Thanks jigman! Any go to lures I should know about? I haven't fished SR in YEARS so I'm a little out of the loop. Much appreciated!

You should look into trout fishing in that county too- one of the best places for trout in the state. I like to go on google maps and look for bodies of water and research if they are fishable or not. The state's fish+game website should list them too ofc. I can 2nd the reservoirs suggested

I fish for trout around me all the time! I've just wanted to get into bass fishing a little more recently than I have been in the past and was wondering if anyone had any hidden gem lakes/ponds they knew about. I killed the browns in spruce run creek on spinners at the end of last august, super fun!

It really depends. Chatterbaits are a 3 season bait. Big spinnerbaits too. Not much structure in spruce. It's a rocky pit. No weed beds. No pads. Need to cover ground or fish bait dependant upon season.
