RR Bronze Sunday 5/21/2017

Late report fellas...been busy as hell.
Wife and I hit the RR for a few hours on Sunday. Great assortment of cookie cutter smallies, some badass rock bass who really do not know how small they are and a sunnie or two. One nicer smallie measured out at 18" and I caught a 12" striper which made the day. Striper was a nice surprise since we were a good bit upstream of the old Nevius street bridge location. No pic of the striper becasue the wife was too far away with the camera and I'm a lazy old bastard. All fish caught on 4" Yum Dingers Green pumpkin/blue or straight green pumpkin red flake weightless T Rigged or wacky on a 2/0 hook. Any little bit of shade was a good spot to hit.Tried spinners, crankbaits, top water, and jerkbaits with no love. No sign of trout in the stretch we fished. They probably got washed downstream from the heavy rains since they got no fins! Pic to prove it. |

Re: RR Bronze Sunday 5/21/2017
Please remind those who are less well-informed that the bass season is closed until June 15th. All bass caught until then must be released. CPR (Catch Photograph Release) is the way to go. Nice pic and informative report.

Nice smallmouth. And it's always good to hear of stripers in the RR--any size.
