Night Fishing Adventures

12 hours of sleep per week is enough right?

fished with jdtuna and njsquatch, had a couple of fish before sundown and right at sundown on topwater and then a pick of avg/nice fish for the rest of the night. some spots were totally bare, some had a few fish. photo bombs are so much easier to do at night!! :D

the other guys have some more pics to add to this that i don't have but here's what i have:

HOPATCONG -- The retired teacher missing since a Friday night swim on Lake Hopatcong is known for his skill in the water and held a part-time state job training lifeguards.

Arthur Clarke, 64, of Hopatcong, worked as a seasonal water safety supervisor for the state Department of Environmental Protection as recently as last year, according to public records.

DEP spokesman Bob Considine confirmed Clarke had worked with the parks and forestry division, but did not immediately know whether he was continuing in that capacity this year.

Clarke was paid $10,149 in 2016.

His DEP role over the years included overseeing training assignments and putting together a 29-page slideshow, entitled, "Eye health and vision standards for lifeguards."

He is an optometrist and owns Hopatcong Eye Care.

From 1977 to 1993, Clarke was a math and science teacher in the Hopatcong school district, starting at the Durban Avenue School and concluding at the Hopatcong Middle School.

The K-12 district's acting superintendent, Joanne Mullane, said Monday, "Our thoughts are with Mr. Clarke's family during this time of uncertainty."

Clarke reportedly left his house for the lake at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Hopatcong Police Cpt. Thomas Kmetz described him as an "avid swimmer," and said there was nothing unusual about Clarke swimming at night, or even in cold weather.
