Do not repost my pics on any other social media platform!

No offense but I don't recall giving any permission to anyone to repost my photos from here on any other social media platforms.

Please remove my pics from the facebook page (s) it may have been shared on.

i'm sure your request will be honored by whomever shared it, but just so you know for the future once you put your picture anywhere on the internet it's free game technically, so be careful if you're concerned about that stuff.

.

I did a quick Google search to see who "owns" the pictures people post on any media site. It seems the person who took the picture retains ownership of it, despite it being posted on a public forum.

Just because something has been posted to Instagram, Twitter, or other social media platforms does not mean that content is now in the public domain and free for anyone to use. Social media is no different than other forms of online content — the content creator retains the copyrights to any images, text, or video he or she created. When reusing content found on the internet it’s vitally important to make sure you have obtained the right to do so from the content owner.

For example; I do not own this photo. I am posted it without the owner's permission:

Something to do with the photo of your Flathead catfish?

BTW hope you killed it and its considered a dangerous fish species as AndyS pointed out.

Possession and/or release of live potentially dangerous fish species is prohibited and if these species are encountered while angling they must be destroyed.

Pro tip: add watermarks on your photos if you're cautious about putting your pics online, which when you do, you pretty much accept anything can be done with them. Thats just the internet.

You may own the image but if you post it on a public forum without securing it, you are giving up your right to control it's use.

For example. This is part 0f Facebook's User Agreement which you agree to when you click "I agree"-

"When you publish content or information using the Public setting, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture)."
