campsite for fishing

Hello all,

Does anyone know of the best camping site for bass fishing? Looking to get out for MDW weekend and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a place in NJ that has some nice fishing spots.

Float trip on the Big D, many free "primitive" sites within the recreation area. Swartswood state park has nice sites too with facilities, obviously not free and must be reserved.

Round Valley has camp sites on the south side of the lake.

Waywayanda State Park has good bass in it. I know there are campsites but not sure if you can camp lakeside.

Spruce Run has camping and many fishing opportunities from shore or canoe/yak/boat. Ton's of easy shore access with it being low now as well.

It's hard to beat Round Valley for fishing or camping. The sites are nicely spaced, not on top of one another like so many public campsites. It is probably too late to book a water site for the holiday weekend, but walk in sites are probably available. But who knows. You might find a cancellation on a water site. Hike in or boat in to the sites. No automobile access.

Some of the campsites in Stokes campground are along the Flatbrook and there is a lake too.

If you don't mind a longer drive, the Adirondacks are full of great waterside campgrounds and sites. State campgrounds such as Lake Eton, Eighth Lake, Cranberry Lake, Forked Lake, Rollins Pond are on the water if you don't mind that kind of camping.

There are also thousands of backcountry boat to (or paddle to in the wilderness areas) campsites that reqire no reservations. Little Tupper, Lows Lake, Bog River, Hitchens Pond, Round Lake, Lake Lila, Stillwater Reservoir, Eigth Lake, Lower Saranac are just a sampling.

At the state campgrounds all of the best water sites are probably already booked for the holiday weekend by now, but the backcountry sites are all first come first served and I've never seen them close to being filled even on he busiest weekends

Worthington state forest, just north of the gap. Campsites along the delaware.

Wanna camp lakeside. Lake George N.Y. you can rent your own private island. Great fishing off the rocky islands and you won't get more lakeside than this
