KDC walleye contest weekend
 

i fished in the KDC walleye contest this weekend and was able to weigh in two eyes. first one was 22" 3.14lbs and the other was 24" 4 3/4lbs .not to bad. also caught 9 slime darts on a smithwick rouge, 3 larrys, a bunch of white and yellow perch. most fish were caught on a worm spinner rig.the wind was a pain in the ass most of the day and into the night as well,the cloudy conditions helped.the slime darts would not leave that smithwick bait alone.on sunday my slime dart problem continued, this time they were hitting the worm rig. even got a crappie on the worm rig but no love from the eyes on sunday.:cool:

What was the biggest fish? Sucks they're kill tournaments. Killing the big ones picks away at the trophy ratio.

the biggest was 6.8lbs. not all of the walleyes die some make it back to the lake.. i have a difficult time keeping them alive because i do not have a live well. i use a smaller stringer ,i try not to drag them around alot.if i get one,i try to weigh them in as soon as i can. but if i am too far from the weigh station the chance of them surviving diminishes greatly. the two i caught were kept for the table. walleye fillets with carmelized onions and red peppers is awesome.

congrats icebadger on placing in the contest.i got bumped and ended up #8 i think.it was good fishing as there were eyes caught all around the lake.congrats to all the winners!!!!things are just getting started with the eyes and more and more hybrids are showing up.

no worrys chris there is one in the fall hope you remember the date for that one .it is october 7&8th.

Nah this one is better, they're more prone to hit lures at this time haha
