Great find today on powerbait!!

Went to the dicks in brick today for their golf sale and naturally I just had to pass by the fishing section. When there it was a sign that said 4 for $14 dollars on powerbait with a 10 dollar mail in rebate.. So all said and done a dollar each.. hopefully all dicks will have this deal so you guys can get some... good luck Saturday to all who fish unfortunately I'll be working!!

Who ever said I don't use a jig? Where did you get that from? And who said I bought or use powerbait? I was just letting the fellow fisherman on this board no about a deal I came across.. not trying to get into a dick measuring contest here chief!! Go spread your thoughts to all those using powerbait on opening day pal.. if you have such a problem with this bait maybe take it up with them not crying over a website!!

Hey, sorry about that. No dick contest here. Maybe you are right, I will write to Berkley and have the product pulled from the shelf. Just don't see the point in that stuff when there are so many other options.

Good luck wit berkley....'m bout six jars long....I don't get using it in rivers...It does have a place in the still waters tho....

That sticky non environmental friendly stuff has to go ! During river clean ups I always find empty jars of power cheese. Time to take it to the next level and improve your skills, you won't learn anything drowning that sticky stuff.

I've had great results with Power Bait, worms, salmon eggs, jigs, spinners, spoons and flies. Nevermind trolling, casting, wading in the stream and casting from shore, or from a boat - and many other tecnhiques for trout. I don't see one type of fishing to be any better than another.

One techique is not a "level above" others. That smacks of fishing elitism. "My technique is better than yours because...." is nonsense. I've personally learned by drowning "stickly stuff", corn, spinners, spoons, jigs as well as nymphs, streamers, emergers, dry flies and terrestrials. Every time I'm on the water I learn something.

I'm sure you also find trash left behind all sorts of anglers. It isn't just the Power Bait fans who are slobs.

I do very well with a 1/32 jig head and either a 1 inch swimming minnow or 2 inch.. I try to match the jig head color to the bait I am using but that is just personal preference... also a brown 1.5 inch grub was deadly for me in the fall.
