Raritan river 3/26/17:
7 Attachment(s)
Fished the ribber for a few hours at the ladder falls, Queens Bridge and my early season go to spot in Piscataway, nothing. Water looked good at 44* and 700 CFS. Really testing my skills as I feel like I am going backwards in my ability to catch fish, but that's the Raritan for ya !

You mean you actually went to the Raritan to fish? What, did you run out of trash to pull out of there? :D
Fishing's been tough everywhere lately. These up-and-down temps really have the fish confused. It can only get better. |

River looks great. I was in the area of the fish ladder yesterday. Caught 3 Pickerel and another dude got a really nice Smallie at the confluence. Lots of anglers out yesterday.:D

I figured that area would be closed since duke island park is stocked.
Ive yet to catch anything out of that river if that makes you feel better  |

Re: Raritan river 3/26/17:
I'm a complete hack when it comes to lures !!! Give me live herring in a lake and I can work miracles. Not into worms (sorry Wilson) Settled into using jigs which I am kind of good at and are lots of fun to fish. I seem to catch quite a variety on them and can work them in slow and fast water and can control the speed and action quite well. Fishing is open on the Raritan river below Rt. 206 in Somerville because the state does not stock the lower sections.
