Raritan stocking question

Thinking of leaving a couple hours early from work tomorrow and hitting the raritan for some trout and small mouth and had a question about the stocking.

The schedules list the north and south branch but not the main stem, do they stock by duke island park and in raritan in the fall?

No fall stocking for the main stem of the Raritan river. F&G hates this river for some odd reason, we got more water here than anywhere else this fall.

Thanks guys ...ended up fishing under the studdiford bridge for a little over an hour ... water was knee deep and I saw more than a dozen trout and had a couple of follows but no strikes throwing trout magnets and spinners.

Yes, extra trout were stocked there & all the way up to Clinton:

"Black River: Flow in the Black River is so low that trout will not be stocked anywhere in the river. These fish will be stocked in the South Branch of the Raritan River between the Red Mill Dam in Clinton Township and the confluence with the North Branch of the Raritan River."

And, no doubt, some trout will swim down to the main stem Raritan.

Yes, all these trout will be ejecting themselves over the waterfalls. The trout from KLG will be ejecting themselves over the falls at High Bridge and swimming down stream, over many dams. You see it all the time, trout swimming down river right over the dams.

Just take the time and write to F&G asking for trout stocking on the main stem.

threw pumpkin powerbait, roostertails, minnow, and grubs at them today-nada. one hit but didn't commit on a phoebe. they were surface feeding when I left at sundown. I think Andy's November theory is correct.
