Does anyone have any info on where to go fishing for LM, SM or Trout in Portland, Maine? Thanks.

Not much in portland that I know of, but north of there are a couple of nice rivers like the royal river in yarmouth. There is a park with ponds in portland as you get off 295 but don't really know what's in them if anything. You can also go for mackeral from the public pier next to the ferry landing.

what kind of lure do you use for mackerel? what kind of rig?

i'll usually catch one on a small castmaster (cast out and kind of jig it back) then use the mackeral as cut bait under a bobber. also have caught small pollack from the pier. the pier is kinda high off the water but fishable. usually there are locals fishing there. just be curtious and respectful and you should have no problems. great scenery too boot. boats to watch and usually see a few seals.
