Odd Passing Under Boat

So sitting out in the bay maybe 200 yards from Navy Pier with barely any drift and wife is sitting with her feet in the water when all of a sudden a pinkish round object twice size of a basketball passes under the boat opposite of the light current. Freaked the wife out and only explanation I had for her was a harmless Ray.
Any thoughts on what it could have been?

Feet in a water and round pinkish object.

Come on that easy. Rex Ryan returns to his old stomping ground. :D

Huge jellyfish. There are a lot of jelly fish in the bay, look like red/pink round blobs

A jellyfish can't buck the tide.
I'll bet you dollars to donuts it was a cow nosed ray. In the murky bay water right now at just the right depth they look blob-like until they get right up to the surface. We've been seeing a ton of them for weeks now.

RB is full of cow nosed rays this week.

My guess would be a cow nose ray as well... We are loaded with the them this year. We see them cruising around a foot or so under the surface all the time.
