Green turtle 6/29

Got out for an early bite up in ring wood with a buddy. Did pretty well
3lmb from maybe .5-2lbs(jackpot for me)
2 perch to maybe a foot, a good sized pickerel and A super sunnies on roids

Saw huge school of bait in the am
Could not see what had em schooled up. Thinking maybe crappie
Also prob 15 times saw a fish jump
10-15 inches
White ish silver- we suspect it was stocked rainbows eating. Only in the deep, and only till 9am. Not near bait or anything-fits for lake rainbows-no thermometer, but the lake does 30 feet or so and is spring fed.

Fish were in deep, hit senkos, brown salamnader(a first for me) and some deep cranks. Nada on the jigs. Saw some fish swimming mid water, not interested in much. Need to get depth finder.

Sun came out at 11, bite ended then, fished another hour, then pulled the boat.
Pretty day

That's a nice day for sure on a tough lake. Thanks for the report. How's the road heading back there?

Ty. Big holes. But u can pass it with a normal car, just have to watch the holes. Can't do more than 5-10. They redid it a year or two ago, way better than it was.

Able to fit a 2500 truck thru, no problem

heard the ice fishingis good. never actually done it, always played hockey. gonna try this winter.

funny, i always catch down the right side<looking out from launch, and in the deep by the damn and down there. also the cove to the right, but only early before the weeds get thick. its funny how different ppl catch in different spots.

I was bank fishing there a couple of weeks ago, until a BEAR sneeked up behind me, scared the crap out of me. I caught two dinks before that happened. I'm kinda hestitant to go back there.

All of northern nj is packed with em, seen em at skunksville and waywayanda. Couple serious hikers I know carry an air horn and some firecrackers. Just don't pull a jpp
