Kayak?

Looking to purchase a fishing kayak mainly for fishing the Manasquan. Looking to spend roughly $800. Any one have any advice on best bang for buck. Looking for stability and comfort.
Thanks

I would go on Walmart's web site. You can get a good deal on kayak's there. The problem is they ship via freight. So you have to be home when they deliver.

Check out the hobies at fishermans supply. For a more economical , but practical choice see the ocean kayak line at west marine.

People seem to like the Field/Stream Eagle Talon 12, based on the old Tarpon 120 hull. Dicks has it for under 600, which will give you enough room to buy a quality PFD (mandatory) and a basic handheld VHF (highly recommended).

Good luck!

A SIT ON TOP! No sit inside, sit insides are cheap death traps and should be illegal in salt water. And hobie doesn't make anything for $800. I would see a good quality used kayak. Check Craigslist or any of the Facebook for sale pages. There you might get a hobie for $800. Pay attention to max cap and make sure you and all your gear are well under it. Wider = more stable, but also = slower. I weigh 360lbs and have an ocean kayak prowler Big Game 2. Love it! Feel free to ask questions, just pm me.
