Lost nets
It really isn't surprising that entrapment happens-probably much more than we see in the oceans. Ballard & others have found WW2 wrecks draped in lost nets-to the extent that their submersibles really couldn't get close enough to properly explore/identify the vessel.
Also, just look at the size of the trash island floating in the Pacific from the Japan tsunami--that'll never be cleaned up. Kudos to all that free our trapped finny friends when they're happened upon... Okay, a short rant...I'm done..... |

It's not a rant at all....it's a huge problem...can you imagine how much mono it dumped in the local waters every season. We can all do our part and throw it away propoerly.
