Brackish to basalt
Beating the banks and rocks in the local area was able to find a few smallies and this decent Larry a few days ago. Quick pic & right back in!
Was hitting up a northern NJ river with the chica scoring some panfish and decided to try a spot I found on google. Found parking and took a hike waaay off the beaten path and found a honey hole. What I thought was a nice pond turned out to be an abandoned quarry. The water was gorgeous looking! The place seemed to be loaded with fish but by the time we got to a land-able spot, the storm was heading over to us quick. Was able to bank a couple bass b4 leaving in the storm though so at least we went for more than the scenery. Back to the river and my local spot 2 days ago in search of more bass and after putting a lil more work into the spot & finally started throwing my lure. After a while it gets hit hard by this nice 20" river bruiser, fought like a champ too! New notch on my belt with it being my Pb smallie as well. http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6uxklkwn.jpg http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/...psjm25ylbc.jpg http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/...psikkueiy8.jpg |

Nice fish gotta love finding empty quarries They tend to hold some monster fish in their waters. I go to one quite often that i found a few years ago. It will remain nameless.
