Ok, out of the 800 different Gulp baits, which do you guys prefer for fluke?

Thanks,
Andy

Well I would say you would want to stick to the standards... Chartreuse, white, Glo, Nuclear Chicken, Pink Shine. I carry a variety of sizes and shapes. From 4" swimming mullets to jerks to grubs. You never know when one is going to produce better which is why I think Fluking has become more of a sport over the last few years. Just my thoughts.

For bucktailing, I like 6 inch grubs... White, Nuke Chicken, Pink Shine, Chartreuse all work and depending on the day some better then others.

Most times the fish hit the teaser not the bucktail so I usually use the gulp on the teaser and a piece of meat, like long strips of squid or fluke belly on the bucktail.

I've also seen days where unless you tip your teaser gulp hook with a spearing, smelt, killie or sandeel the fish didn't touch it.

I think it has everything to do with were you fish for fluke.the more you can "match the hatch" the more and bigger fish you will catch.when drifting open bottom I like the bright colors as the fish can see longer distances.when I am fishing rough bottom I like the dark colors.for example when fishing the inshore snags they hold sea bass. we all know how much all fish like eating those little sea bass.so I use a black bucktail with a white gulb that just sticks out an inch from the hair.this looks like a small sea bass and when jigged by a waiting fluke it is lights out.just my 2$

Use swimming mullet or grubs, no need for anything else. See what few colors you like and stick to them.

Pink Shine all the time. On a 24"-30" dropper about a foot above the Bucktail. In rough stuff I go with a verticle dropper presentation. Don't forget to jig your ass off. 90 percent will hit the dropper. Just a suggestion but work Wonders for me lol.

I've seen everything mentioned here work at one time or another. Which one is best is impossible to tell because what worked well Tuesday produced nothing Wednesday. But what I have seen work almost every day is a dead rental stick in the water with boat bait. (apiece of fluke belly and spearing). It may not get you a pool winner and it may be just a shorty but it produces. If you think I'm joking just ask my grandson.

It depends on conditions, but I limited last year using new penny squidos.
