night fishing/eye contest

Participated in the KDC eye contest. started fishing 5am saturday morning and our first 10 casts produced 5 brids...ok a good start but the wrong species haha. proceeded to pick away at a few eyes, but nothing great.

The bite changed as the sun got high so we weighed in (fish stayed great in the live well and were able to be released) and got some bait and fished deep. pulled in 3 eyes from deep including a little bit of a better fish.

My buddy needed take a break to go to his friend's memorial service. We headed back out around 4pm and planned to spend the night pounding eyes...but it was not meant to be. The wind tossed us around a bit but we were able to get into some more brids and a few smaller eyes early in the night including a nice sized brid.

The cold front moved in around 10-11pm and the bait activity turned off like a switch! we tried and tried but with only one small eye from 10pm till 3am we were pretty much spent and called it. One of our eyes was just good enough for 6th place oh well better than last contest.

caught one walleye around 5;30am saturday and that was it for me.fished 7pm
till 1:30am sunday with just 2 rock bass to show for it.took a 2 hour nap and was fishing again from 4am till 7am sunday morning with out a touch.that cold front stopped the bait from moving and pretty much shut the bite down for me.
Chris congrats on your eye,did you place in the contest??
