Some pre-work rainy day action...

Hit a local pond. Got 7 bass between 13-17" and 5 pickerel between 14-18". Not bad for an hour in the rain. Saw fish breaking surface on golden(?) shiners so I used Gary Yamamoto 2.5" Shibuki popper. Worked liked a charm. Did lose one lure on a large pickerel that completely cleared the water sideways attacking it. Moments like that are why I love topwater fishing(seeing the pickerel jump not losing the lure - lol).

Now off to work :(

Nice pics of those bass and slime darts, bummer about the lost lure should of used a steel leader w/ a clip that way it stays on. And the dart won't steal it.

I never lost a lure to a slime dart i always fish with a steel leader & clip tied on for quick changing lures all year round. Because the places i fish are loaded with darts

Went out again today in the rain...90 minutes local bass lake...6 bass between 12-14". Water temp wasn't terrible - 57F - considering it hasn't been above 60F since saturday. I think the cloudy, sort of warm nights(mid/upper 40's) are keeping temps from dropping too much. This Seattle weather would be great if air temps were about 10F warmer. I'm lucky to have about 10 places to choose from within 15 minutes. An hour or two is all the therapy I need before going to row with the other slaves...
