Local pond crappies and bass

I caught some killies this morning and fish a small local pond. I had at least 20 7"-11" crappies, 9 10"-13" bass and a 4lb channel cat. One larger bass around 3lbs gave me the fin on several occasions. All site fishing on the bank as crappies were bedding and bass were looking.

Cool how crappies seem to bed as early as smallmouths.

And then 90% of them seem to disappear after the spawn, even in a 2 acre pond with a max depth of 3 feet.

Not really any slabs but they were willing. Even hand fed them some small killies to watch them pop on top. It is a kid's fishing spot so all were safely released. Anywhere else and 3 or 4 would have been dinner.
