Saddle River Report

Fished from Ridgewood Ave to above Route 17.
Decent Trout at Ridgewood.
Worked my way up to Linwood ave bridge -hitting all holes on the way. Fish are super spooked out - I am assuming from the very clear water and tons of fishing pressure. Wouldn't commit to trout magnet. Instead power bait was the answer. But had to be super patient.
-At Linwood ave - there were some under the bridge to the left. Again super spooked, flying all over the place - not much room to go anywhere tho.
-From Linwood ave up to 17 hit every pool - each one producing nice trout. - You can tell the fish up to 17 were less pressured. Feeding on bugs and eating my my powerbait.

caught about 12 - only keeping 1 for a meal

Nice walk and easily accessible spots too.

good report! that's a nice little river there, used to live out that way and was always surprised i didn't see more people fishing. seems like everyone just uses it for the walking/biking trail.

No Browns.
Think they are up further - above allendale area.

The water was very clear. River was clean...looked good.
A lot of algae on the rocks already.

One thing that did suck is people letting their dogs into river. Quite annoying.
I was going to call Bergen County parks today and let them know about the problem.
