Weather man strikes again
 

They were calling for ne winds 15 to 20 with 4 to 6 ft. seas.Sooooo,the genius that i am,i canceled our charter for today.woke up in the am and there wasnt enough wind to blow out a match,needless to say ,i was not in a good mood.To put salt in the wounds,Capt.ed calls me about nine am and want s to take the boat out and do a little hunting.T old him i couldnt go ,made a couple of appointments i had to keep.Ed decides to take the boat out himself.Makes a drop on a spot and proceeds to catch 7 tog up to ten lbs and then heads for the barn.Ed kept his 4 fish and released the others to fight another day,including the ten lber.NICE GOING ED,GREAT JOB. Capt. You hit the nail on the head!! I get NOAA's deal "error on the side of caution", but too many times trips get cancelled and no one gets out when the seas were very fishable. I especially feel for you guys in the charter world many who rely on it as a living or supplemental income. What do you do? take your charter and possibly get beatup or just cancel the trip and then find out you could have gone because the forecast was dead wrong. I spoke to a site sponsor Capt. just yesterday and could hear the despair in his voice, "What can I do" he said. At the end of the day we are all at the mercy of the unpredictable weather, I guess we'll just have sit back tie some more rigs and wait for a "good" forecast. Best of Luck,See you soon! P.S. Based on the forecast you always look out for the best interest of your customers and made the correct decision based on forecast. Keep doing the right thing, that's why your customers keep coming back year after year.
I feel bad for the fish next time you get out as you are going to open up a can of wupass on them

Alex, thanks for your encouraging reply concerning cancellingTRIPS.I try to make the right callfor the sake of my guys but i have to say,these forcasts have been way off.No limit, you are correct that wind guru is more accurate but even they dont deserve a cigar.m\My main concern is for the safety and comfort of my fishermen.Hate to beat up the guys,fishing is supposed to be fun,not an endurance test.I realize i will make the wrong call agian before this season is over but my conscience will be clear.Thanks again guys for your feedback.TOMMY JOSEPH
