Epic night on the river

Got the invite with another buddy he was gonna hit his snakehead spot before the weeds and lillys grow up too bad to get the boat in the shallow coves. Eneed up with 18 snakeheads 1 monster 4+lb goldie, a dozen carp and a fat channel cat. Saw easily another 20 snakeheads we either missed or took off before we could on them plus 3 that pulled off, either way the three of us all took home about 10 lbs of fillets.

We typically don't see eyes in the tidal section and can't remember ever seeing them up any of the tributaries. Havnt been out up north yet

.

That's the biggest goldfish I've ever seen. Seeing that picture, I had to do a google search to see what the world record is.

I can't find an exact, official record, but the largest goldfish caught with a hook-and-line may be (according to this website) five pounds. Not much bigger than the one you guys got.

I didn't know it was legal to shoot Channel Catfish.

Have you caught one? They fight very hard...easily put a bass to shame.

They are also fun to shoot and the best tasting fish in the river. I love them haha

The bowfishing association of America lists a 12lb 9oz goldfish as their bowfishing world record. I know two local guys have shot 9 and 8lb goldfish in eastern pa as well. Typically we see them 1 - 2lbs but once in awhile you see a freak of nature goldfish.

Yes on the delaware river all catfish species all legal and in Pennsylvania waters the same. We put the smack down on the flatheads come late summer when the water gets gin clear and they move shallow
