Back in the water
For many of us, the end of the ice season is tough. What do I do now? Can I drag my sled onto the water? Can I still cast a rod? What do I do with all these Mousies? Fortunately, after tucking the Clam back into the garage til next year, I was able to get back into the swing of things pretty quickly. Been chipping away at the Pike for a couple weeks now in the high water. Horny, smaller males have definitely been more prevalent, but a few nice females moved in before the water dropped. Live 7"-10" Golden Shiners and slow rolled jerkbaits have been doing the damage. Hoping we get another blast of rain to bring things back up, but if not, the Big Lakes are where I will be headed next :).
