Pike, perch, pickerel and more 2/6-2/7, 2016
 

Saturday Feb 6:

Chrisper and I spent the day on the ice searching for pike. The action was definitely on the slow side, but we managed to catch a handful of northern pike by the end of the day. Chrisper also managed to jig a lonely sunfish as well.

Sunday Feb 7:

Chrisper, NJSquatch and myself hit the ice at another lake looking for a mixed bag of species. The weather was incredibly mild and it was a really nice day to be out ice fishing. Chrisper had the hot hand today catch a big bass, some big crappie as well as perch and pickerel. NJSquatch had some per and pickerel, and I ended up with perch and pickerel. In fact the pickerel I caught had been landed by Chrisper a few hours earlier! Aggressive little critters.

All in all a great weekend fishing with friends.

yeah i love wasting my creek chubs on greedy average sized pike!!! hahahaha! Those were my already dying ones anyway the bigger livelier ones are waiting to meet much bigger fish! the single bluegill i jigged up saturday spent the day hanging from a tip up...then at the end of the day swam free and unharmed...:mad:

here are my fish from the weekend, a nice fatty bass and some crappie to almost 13", perch to 12.5", and plenty of dink perch jigging and some pickerel on tip ups. no big pike unfortunately and the action sunday shut off like a light switch at 11:30 (unfortunately we had a late start so we didn't experience the possible early morning bite.

Hmmm pike is all over the place as long as you know where to look.

Saturday and Sunday was a slam dunk for those slimy critters but no biggums yet.

yeah except wind is not the friend of first forming ice! the places already iced will be fine, but i'm not so sure much new surface ice will be made this week...

nice fish Chris,my son was up there sunday also.said the fishing was good in the a.m. for perch and crappies.
