Ice pickerel 1/30/16
 

After last weekend, i picked up some tip ups, an auger and a sled to drag the gear around. I hit the ice for a few hours on Sat. Bite was slow, but had a few flags fly and had a fat pickerel.

Really enjoying the ice thing. I think this is the first winter I'd hoped for colder weather haha.

Nice job out there. I fished another part of that lake on saturday hoping I could get some fish. I had one bite me off and my buddy got a pike at 26ish. Last 2 hours of day light decided to move where everyone was in the morning and got rewarded with 3 pike up to 29 inches. Ice fishing will get addicting. I just hope this cold weather comes back!!

nice bro. When i first started ice fishing 5-6 seasons ago, i got skunked 4 times in a row before i caught ANYTHING...so you're on a pretty good track.

congrats!!! ice fishing is my favorite.yea I love all fishing and hunting but there is nothing like ice fishing.keep up the good work

Great job on the catch!! Definitely a little addicting once you get a good bite. Keep it up man!
And Cris, I've got a buddy that has been on at least seven or eight trips and still hasn't had anything, think he might have to wait for next year though.

Just imagine if we had a better winter that we could have had more options to chase walleyes, muskies, lakers, hybrids etc. Don't get me wrong I always love the first few days of ice chasing pickerel flags and catching jumbo perch, slab crappies and bull bluegills but the big fish really get me excited!
