Sonic boom offshore...who heard it?

Apparently someone was out there....I have yet to experience one myself. Found this on philly dot com.

Bill Godfrey, a real estate agent in Ocean City, said he was returning from a fishing trip about 30 miles off the coast when he and his friends heard eight of the booms as they got closer to the shoreline.

"It was awesome," Godfrey said. "

Would a sonic boom effects the ocean? Not sure, but an earthquake will.
So is it possible there was an earthquake not a sonic boom?
Possible the government is hiding something blaming it on a sonic boom......
Lol

An inland earthquake usually doesn't cause wave action in the ocean. I've been out both inshore and offshore a couple of times when an inland earthquake occurred and we felt or saw literally nothing; only heard about it on channel 16.
