Maxel hybrid 20 reel: thoughts? Quality? Service?
 

In the market for a maxel hybrid 20. Held one the other day. Felt pretty good. Has some bad ass power for a micro reel.

Was wondering if any of you guys have direct experience with this reel and if you could provide some feedback on it. Also, where do you get them serviced?

I been using one for the last six blackfish trips I have it with a blackdemon rod killer setup superlite ilanded a 13pds blackfish with it powerful little reel got it at the reel seat

What lb test braid you using on it?
I was playing with one in the store today and really liked it.

How do you like the black demon?
I used one for tog on Fish Stix and liked it so much I went and bought one so now I'm deciding what reel to pair it with.

I'll be pairing mine with a black widow rod. I read they hold 330 yards of 40 lb braid.

Maxel's website says it holds 300 meters of PE2 - if you do the conversion using Power Pro for typical braid diameters, it comes out to 225 yards of 40lb braid.

I have been fishing with one since November and have not had one issue. We have sold quite a few of them and have had customers come back with nothing but raves for the reel. We service Maxels and we are also their NJ warranty center.:)

I have 50 pd test braid the reel is a beast it fits demon rod nice very light set up I was using 10oz on it no problem

Dave - To my knowledge, these are not available in a lefty version in the US yet - Any idea when a black lefty version might be available?

Lefties might be available in Feb however I was told they would only be available in silver. Not written in stone but that was what was told to me by importer/distributor.
