Sbr 1-3-16
 

1st time out in 2016. It was pretty chilly this morning. Made me feel the ice is upon us :)

Met up with shucker for a spell on the SBR. Started a few ticks after 7 am and fished until 130 pm. We covered a LOT of ground. Not a lot of fish to show for it but we both caught some rainbows. I think shucker had 3 or 4. I had 2... one being a hair shy of 20" and chubby as hell. She fought well too--thrashing, darting all over the place. Nice long fight and an even better release. It was a new pb for me. Good way to start the year!

Aside from offshore fishing and my vampire antics it's easily one of my favorite types of fishing. Commence ice dancing!!!!!

And thanks guys. She was a fun catch on a slow day. She found her bearings rather quickly too...turned her head and sat in current pumping her gills. Awesome to see!

Good looking 'bow! Me and the lady were out there for a bit in the afternoon, wish I would have known, could have used a guide :p.
