Registration woes NY to NJ
I'm having problems registering a boat I bought from a gentleman in NY here is NJ. It seems like NJ and NY motor vehicle agencies don't talk the same language.Anyone out there have this problem? Anyone from NJMVC talk to a peer on the NY side? I'm sure you bayshore guys have some stories about this.

What sort of problem? I did it a couple of years ago with no issues whatsoever.
I handed them them the title, application and a check and they gave me my new numbers and sticker. |
Re: Registration woes NY to NJ
Yep - Just get the title and take it to DMV and you should be set.

Re: Registration woes NY to NJ
Are you trying to transfer the NY to NJ?
It's simple if you have a title. More work without the title shifting to have to prove that you and the seller legitimately came into ownership. More papers that's all. And of course sales tax. |
Re: Registration woes NY to NJ
My issue from NY to NJ was the assignable registration. NJMVC didnt like that much. I had to get a notarized letter from the seller stating that he was selling the boat to me. Assuming that's your problem?
