I loved the OJ pork baits and used them a lot in the 70's and 80's, but I think there are many plastic baits now that serve the same purpose as well, if not better. It's sad to lose an old classic but time marches on. I've often wondered why they were still sold and who still used them given all of the plastic alternatives. I haven't used the things in 20+ years.

I don't know if the plastic alternative is as tough as those rinds. Could fish a find all day then put it back in the jar to be used again.

That's all we used years ago. A piece of that white pork rind on a block tin squid and you were good to go. Like Shrimp said... Put it back in the jar and good for next time.

I used them fishing for northerns (pike) when stationed on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Put them on a treble hook at the end of a red and white Daredevle (their spelling) and you were good to go.
Convenience again has won out as the plastics are not kept in that oily liquid, no worries about spilling it all over yourself and then searching for a rag to wipe your hands.
