Maycember Kayak quickie
Had to work a half-day on Sunday, but no way was I letting a stupid little thing like MY JOB come in between me and some fish :p. The boys were doing an early morning trip, so I threw the yak on the roof and planned on hitting the Big D for the afternoon bite. Decided against that after a last minute call from a buddy in Newton, went to Big S instead. Launched around 2:30 and called it around 5pm. Ended up with a solid mixed bag of 1 Pickerel, a handful of plus sized Crappie to 12", and a solid 24" Walleye just as it was getting dark. Lost another good fish on the way up too, never saw it. Brought a dozen shiners with me for egg sinker rigs and jig tipping, but all fish came on 2.5" and 3" Relax swimshads on the bottom. Kayak Walleye fishing in short sleaves in DECEMBER??!!
