11-15-2015 great day at new hole
 

Yesterday I put in some leg work and found a nice spot a little more than a quarter mile up river. Caught two nice trout yesterday.
Went back to work it with the proper time today. 7 lovely healthy trout in about an hours time!!! Great day! The fish were slamming the salmon eggs of all colors.
Unfortunately I stomach hooked two one of which I am certain didn't make it as I had him for dinner. Over 10 minutes went in to bringing him back to life, just wasn't happening. The other I worked back to life it swam off then I saw him floating a couple minutes later. I went after him only for it to dart deep. I could see him sitting in the same spot but hopes are he made it as he never resurfaced.
Great to put in the leg work hunting holes that are holding trout!! Lesson is trout have dispurched to bigger and better holes then the ones under the bridges they were stocked at.
All fish released except one.

Nice looking trout. If your willing to walk a little you can generally find some unpressured fish that are willing to play, great job!

My method for finding late fall trout: Find two bridges on the river, and determine the exact center point between them. There's where the trout are! :D

Nice catching! And no shame in enjoying one for dinner.

Good stuff !! I don't know if you want to press the barb of the hook down if you are worried about killing a few, but it is always nice to take a few and cook 'em up. They come out great in the smoker also !

Sounds like you had a good timeout there. Those Trout have the feedbags on this time of year. Rivers and streams should continue to produce til the end of the year. Nice bag of fish!:D
